Rider Class Breakdown

Red Centre BMX welcomes riders of all ages, from as young as 3 to 50+! We have different classes to provide each age group and skill level a safe and challenging environment to ride in.

We use a skills-based coaching model which allows for targeted and specialised coaching of all levels. This means that you will be grouped together with similarly-skilled riders, not necessarily of the same age. This not only enhances track-safety, but allows coaches to focus and target training sessions that are appropriate for rider skill level. The skill-level of your rider is gauged against our timing system, Sqorz, which we use on racing nights. Please see below for relevant skill level requirements and please feel free to send a message to our Facebook page to confirm your riders ability if you are not sure.

BMX Mini Wheelers

BMX Mini Wheelers is an introductory level where riders develop balance, gross motor skills and independence to begin riding a bike. Riders will be able to develop skills that allows their progression in the sport to become seamless as they progress on to the more traditional BMX bike at 5 years of age.

Sprockets is for any rider under the age of 8. The Sprocket program is a participation based program, taking the focus from competition to skill based learning programs. This allows children under the age of 8 the opportunity to tune their BMX racing skills in a fun non-competitive environment.
